Dear Charlie:

So, I went to my beloved sister's today. I love going there. I love my sister. She's so admirable in so many ways. Plus, she's loads of fun, and we always have good Story conversations. Always puts me in the mood to write, though you can tell from my lack of blogging lately that I was already building up to a writing jag.

Anyway, despite the many reasons to go visit, I admit to having a very special reason for going. My beloved sister's first published novel is coming out this weekend. So, we celebrated.

Let me repeat that. You know, for emphasis. MY PUBLISHED.

That may not seem like much to some, but to anyone who's even tested the publishing water, that ain't no cabbage. I am so proud of her that I could just spit. She's amazing. Incredible.

As is the story.

If you're interested -- and I can't imagine how you couldn't be, heh -- she's published through Drollerie Press. The novella prequel, Survive My Fire, is here. My sister's author bio page, where you'll find a link for the novel, The Rose of Shanhasson, which should be out tomorrow (Sunday), is here.

I cannot say enough about this book. I read the very first version, and I loved it as much then as I do now, though it's gone through several iterations and has only gotten better each time. The characters are etched as fully in my mind as if I'd met them. Their stories are as real as any of my own memories.

*happy sigh*

Good times, folks. Good times. I am beyond thrilled to know that this story is finally going to be available to the masses. You guys have been deprived for far too long. Finally, the universe is being remedied of this aggregious breach.

Well, tomorrow. Heh.

Bless your heart, thank you! Seriously, thank you. If you'd told me that first crappy version really was crappy, I probably would have quit.

Uncle J and That Man about killed each other for your last cookie.
